Editorial Guidelines for Article Submissions

The editorial guidelines are here to assist you in understanding what we are looking for in terms of content and formatting to be included in our publications. Please read the following guidelines carefully before article submission.

  • Articles must be original and must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another publication.
  • Advertorial, commercial or promotional articles will not be accepted. While we appreciate cutting-edge articles on topics featuring new ideas concepts, our readers wish to be educated, not sold. Articles cannot be an advertisement, promotional material, press release or include excessive self-promotion. Only articles that are educational and informative in nature will be considered.
  • You may include a 50-word bio with your article where you can “sell” your company. Please include the company/personal bio at the end of the article. Do not send a separate bio or resume.
  • Please include a high-quality digital picture (headshot) when you submit your article.
  • Videos, Charts, graphs, infographics, statistical charting, audio casts, surveys and pull out quotes,  can be included. Attach the image to the file, along with identifying and/or placing it in the article where you would like it. Any image files should be print ready with a resolution of 300 dpi.
  • Articles should range from 300 – 1,000 words.
  • Suggestions around article development are to consider the following:
    • Q&A format
    • Bullets with quick ‘take-aways’
    • “He said/She Said” Pieces – opposing viewpoints
    • Trends in the industry
    • Thought pieces  (Op Eds)
    • Vlogs (video interviews)
    • Lists – always a user favorite (top 10 or 3 musts knows)
    • Comparison pieces to current news articles (how x impacts y)
    • Man on the street pieces (Live to tape video of interviewing others)
    • Reviews of products/services (of others, not your own to lend credibility)
  • If you would like to include your resources, citations or works cited in your article, please place them just after the article but before your bio.
  • Provide a suggested title for your article. The editors may alter titles for marketing or clarity purposes.
  • Articles submitted must be the final draft, no rough drafts please.
  • After publication, all authors are highly encouraged to share their article through their social media platforms.
